Growing with Purpose – IIL Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainable Growth

New Delhi, November 4th, 2025: Insecticides (India) Limited (IIL), one of India’s leading agrochemical companies, has reaffirmed its  commitment to responsible and sustainable growth through measurable progress across environmental,  social, and governance (ESG) dimensions in FY 2024–25.

Anchored in its purpose of “Growing with Purpose,” IIL has integrated sustainability into every aspect of  its operations, from improving energy efficiency and promoting renewable use to fostering an inclusive  workforce and maintaining strong governance standards.

Mr. Rajesh Kumar Aggarwal, Managing Director, Insecticides (India) Limited, said, “At IIL, sustainability  is not a parallel agenda—it is embedded in how we operate, innovate, and grow. Our focus on  environmental stewardship, social inclusion, and transparent governance reflects our belief that long-term  business success comes from creating value for all stakeholders. We remain committed to expanding  renewable energy adoption, promoting resource circularity, and empowering farming communities  through knowledge and technology.”

On the environmental front, the company implemented a range of measures across its manufacturing  facilities, including biomass substitution at the Chopanki unit, optimization of the Automatic Power Factor  Correction (APFC) system at Dahej, and cooling tower upgrades to reduce energy use and emissions. These initiatives helped achieve total energy consumption of 22,41,065 GJ, with Scope 1 emissions at 14,658  tCO₂e and Scope 2 emissions at 15,354 tCO₂e. IIL also enhanced biodiversity through a 4,000-plant mini  forest (in partnership with RIICO) and expanded green cover to over 30% of its operational areas, while  implementing 818 hectares of water recharge structures in Rajasthan.

On the social front, IIL strengthened its diversity and inclusion efforts, with women now forming 18% of  executive-level positions. The company delivered 4,800+ hours of training focused on safety, compliance,  and leadership development. It also launched ‘IIL Growsmart’, a multilingual, digital learning platform  featuring 15+ interactive courses across regional languages to boost employee upskilling and product  knowledge.

Furthering its community engagement, IIL invested ₹2.52 crore in rural development programs,  supporting education, sanitation, clean water, and healthcare initiatives. Collaborations with agricultural  universities, NGOs, and rural schools continued to strengthen farmer knowledge and community well being.

In the governance domain, IIL upheld strong ethical and transparent practices with a Board comprising  50% independent directors, including two women directors. A robust policy framework, encompassing  the Business Responsibility Policy, Code of Conduct, and Business Partner Code, ensures ethical  operations and compliance across the value chain. The company’s sustainability disclosures are reviewed  for alignment with global standards, reinforcing accountability and stakeholder trust.

By integrating operational efficiency with social inclusion and governance integrity, Insecticides (India)  Limited continues to build a resilient and purpose-driven foundation for sustainable growth.
